Questions families and clients ask

If your question isn't here, call us. The first conversation is confidential.

How much does a sober travel companion cost?

Cost depends on the length of the trip, the hours of coverage and the destination. The companion's airfare, lodging and meals are part of the total. You'll see the full cost in writing before anything is booked.

Is a sober companion covered by insurance?

Usually not. Most clients pay privately. We can provide documentation if you plan to submit a claim.

How far ahead do we need to book?

As early as possible, especially around holidays. We try to accommodate short notice.

What's in the service agreement?

Scope, confidentiality terms, scheduling and fees. Every engagement runs under a written agreement.

Is the service confidential?

Yes. Information is shared only with the people the client has agreed to.

Do you work with teens?

Yes. We support teens and young adults, including high school and college students.

Is this medical care?

No. Sober companions provide recovery support, not medical treatment. In an emergency, call 911.

Who provides the service?

Sober Travel Companions is a service of NMG Recovery Consulting LLC, with companions based in Los Angeles, New York City and Fort Lauderdale.
